Greening-up a construction site
The construction industry doesn't have a very good track record when it comes to being eco-friendly. For starters, new construction implies that the earth will be "developed", so that is generally not so eco-friendly. We humans will continue to build and rebuild, but there are reasonable ways to accomplish the mission while minimizing the environmental impact of the construction project.
Why should you care? By taking steps to minimize the environmental impact, it will:
- Reduce the amount of energy and natural resources consumed. This means that you and your future generations will have more energy and natural resources available to maintain quality of life.
- Reduce the amount of waste generated. This means that you and your future generations will have more open space available to maintain quality of life.
- Reduce the cost of the project, which means more money in your pocket.
- Reduce project time, which means more time for other projects or time with the family.
